Josh Rosen and Sam Darnold are getting a lot of love as potential No. 1 draft picks, but another quarterback might give them a run for their money. Perhaps you’ve heard of him. His name is Baker Mayfield, and he won the 2017 Heisman Trophy.

And he may have had the best Senior Bowl week of any QB in the class.

“I loved him coming in,” Cleveland’s 92.3 The Fan host Dustin Fox said on Taz & The Moose. “He’s my top quarterback coming into this week. I had never met him until this week. I had a chance to talk with him off the air and then had him on our show on Wednesday, and I loved the kid. The competitiveness about him, his attitude – which can rub some people the wrong way – I tend to like it. He planted a flag in the middle of the Horseshoe. I played for Ohio State, and I was cool with that because he kicked our rear ends. I just love his swagger.”

Fox also loves the film.

“It’s nothing like the Johnny Manziel comparisons that a lot of people are making,” Fox said. “I thought during the week he was excellent in practice. He was known for his accuracy, and that’s really what NFL teams want to see. They want guys who are going to put the ball on the money – and he does that.”

Mayfield completed more than 70 percent of his passes in each of his last two college seasons, during which he threw for 83 touchdowns and just 14 interceptions. He may not be the prototypical 6-5 quarterback – he’s listed at 6-1 – but Mayfield proved in Mobile that he can hang with the nation’s best.

And outshine them.

“He needed that,” Fox said. “Everyone said he’s such a competitor. For him to not want to go down there and do it would have been a red flag. (It was the) exact opposite. He blew people away down there, his teammates just gravitate towards him – he’s got something about him that you love. And I love it, too.”

But will he be the top quarterback – or at least one of the top quarterbacks – taken in this year’s draft?

Maybe.

“I don’t know what the Browns are going to do at No. 1 and No. 4,” Fox said. “But I know this much: I chatted with a lot of people in Mobile in the evening hours when you’re out and people get a little loose-lipped. The Browns are very interested in Baker Mayfield. There’s a lot of thing that John Dorsey, our general manager, likes in Baker Mayfield.”
